There are three types of products in the game:
Mead
Fabric
Weapons
You need raw 
resources and coins in order to manufacture the products. The cost of making one product is indicated on the bottom of the production area on your player mat. All halves are always rounded down (not in player's favor).
Product cubes 
are stored in production areas.
Resources and products are goods that can be bought and sold on the market.
The player has 2 and 1.
You need 1
+ 1
in order to produce 1.
You need 4
+ 4 to produce 4 .
Why are weapons made of stone?
Any game always provides a certain level of abstraction and simplifies reality. Indeed, the needs of the medieval state are not limited to six positions. So, each of the icons combines a whole set of items:
