All units located on one hex, if there is at least 1 military unit, are called the army. The number of units in the army is called its army size.
Army size limit is the maximum number of units that can be located on one hex (no more than 4 by default).
The army consisting of different types of units is called the combined arms army. For convenience, sort the units of the same type into separate piles.
The army on a hex with a fortification is called the garrison.
Movement points of an army are defined by the smallest number of the movement points of one of its units.
Army strength is calculated against a certain enemy target right during the battle. It is the number of cubes
(attack / defense) that is added to the
battle bag on the preparation step:
Army strength bonus is additional attack / defense cubes that are added to the bag during the
battle.
Army attack class is the attack class of one of its units, whose strength bonus is used for calculating the overall strength of this army. For a combined arms army it is a variable. For instance, the army of a swordsman and archers from example (3) can have melee or
ranged attack class.
Army courage is the number of cubes that can be drawn from the bag during the clash. The army courage is calculated as the sum of the number of active units and the courage modifiers.
